Dr Dominika Budzbon is the Deputy Director of Cardiology at Canberra Hospital. She also leads Canberra Hospital's heart failure and complex device implantation service.
At Core Cardiology, she combines her expertise in heart failure management with advanced cardiac device therapy to provide comprehensive cardiac care to our patients.
In her personal time, she enjoys sailing, travelling and hiking.
After initial training in Poland, where she earned her PhD, Dr Budzbon pursued cardiology training across hospitals in England and Wales, including the prestigious St Thomas' Hospital in London. As Heart Failure Lead at East Kent Hospital, she played a key role in developing cardiac services.
Dr Budzbon moved to Australia in 2022, where she worked at Mackay Base Hospital, Queensland. While there, she performed the first ICD implant in Mackay.
In 2024, Dr Budzbon joined Canberra Hospital to lead their heart failure and complex device implantation service. Her previous experience at Mackay Base Hospital enriched her understanding of delivering specialist cardiac care in the Australian healthcare system.
